There are several ways you can support the South Pinellas District Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in its service to the hungry, homeless and needy. Here are some of them:

We welcome and appreciate your financial contributions either by check or through our convenient, secure electronic transfer system using your Master Card, Visa, American Express or Discover credit card. This is an ideal and easy way to become a Good Samaritan and make regular monthly donations of set amounts that automatically are sent from your bank to ours. These contributions provide you with a tax-deduction and us with a much-needed steady cash flow to help meet our operating costs year-round. Click Here to make an online donation

We always need non-perishable foods to replenish the pantries that stock the comestibles that we use to fill food baskets for the indigent individuals and families in our community. These food items include canned goods, peanut butter, packaged cereals, and boxed dinners. Food donations can be delivered to our Food Center located at 401 15th Street North in St. Petersburg daily between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Our Thrift Store is located at 180 34th Street North in St. Petersburg and thrives on gently used clothing, furniture and household goods that are given free of charge to needy clients who utilize St. Vincent de Paul's many programs. Many of these individuals are referred by their local SVDP Conference or resold at low cost to the public. Our truck will pick up your heavy items in various areas on appointed days. Please call our store at 727-328-2733 to make arrangements.

365 days a year, St. Vincent de Paul provides those in need a place to eat, sleep, shower and obtain clothing. By hosting a drive for our organization, you are helping us to continue providing support and material to the less fortunate individuals and families who access our programs for services. We welcome hygiene products, canned food, and new and gently used clothing and household items. For more information on drive opportunities, please contact Mary Hausman at 727-823-2516, Ext.101, for more details.

Often made in lieu of flowers, memorials pay tribute to the memory of deceased relatives and friends. Please visit our donation page to donate online, or send a check with the name of the person you wish to remember. In return, SVDP will send cards to the loved one's bereaved families to let them know of your contribute to our organization.

A Commemorative Tribute is a wonderful way to recognize your loved ones on their birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions to remind them how much they mean to you. Send us your check and the name of the person and the event you want to recognize and we will send them cards telling them of your gift to St. Vincent de Paul.

By including SVDP in your estate plans, your legacy of caring for the less fortunate lives on through the special works of SVDP. You can specify a dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or whatever your heart dictates. We suggest you consult your attorney and/or financial advisor to work out the details.

Your gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities can help you to avoid capital gain taxes and enable you to receive a tax deduction.

We appreciate donations of bar soap, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, disposable razors, combs, brushes, tooth paste and tooth brushes, women’s sanitary supplies, socks and men/women’s underwear for the participants of our Personal Hygiene Program.

We can always use the loving support of our volunteers who help in the District Office with clerical chores, in our Food Center preparing and serving our clients, or in the Thrift Store where they sort and fold clothing. Individuals and small groups interested in dedicating their time to assisting St. Vincent de Paul clients are asked to call Mary Hausman, our Volunteer Coordinator, at 727-823-2516, Ext. 101, for more information.

Please make checks payable to: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, South Pinellas, Inc., our registered corporate name and mail to 384 15th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33705.
